Mijntje Wismans was born in Venray (Netherlands) in 1977. She comes from a creative family. Herfather was a photographer. Later he developed himself as an artist in sculptures and paintings and as a curator of several national and international exhibitions. From him Mijntje learned to become a good photographer. Even as a child she was fascinated by the camera her father so often carried around. He on his turn was astonished to see how quickly Mijntje picked up on the techniques of photography. This led to her being able to work as a mature photographer at a relatively young age. Now Mijntje has already done several great projects. For example with her work from the serie ‘A demand for identity’ she exhibited on both the prestigues Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, as on the Photofestival Naarden (Netherlands).
